New Yorkers are surrounded by water and yet many of us have limited interactions with the actual waterways that surround us. In Imaginary Waterscapes No.1, Sto Len explores the sonic properties of water and electricity—both real and imaginary—through touch, sound, ritual, and movement. Referencing John Cage’s Imaginary Landscapes series, Len will use new and old technologies such as Bluetooth, solar panels, and digital wireless transmitters with radio, contact mics, and hydrophones to create a live sonic exploration.
